Auditions are held in person at our site in Brighton, and we recommend that you audition this way. However, if you are not based in the UK, or are unable to attend in person, you can audition via Zoom. Please indicate on your application form if you wish to have a zoom audition.

preparation
For the audition you will need to prepare the following:
Foundation Course - One monologue from a published play or film that is 2 to 3 minutes long.
Diploma Course - Two contrasting monologues from published plays or films each 2 to 3 minutes long.
The pieces can be classical or contemporary. Please see our Audition Guide for more advice.
entry requirements
Applicants must be over 18 years old for Diploma. We will accept students 16-18 on Foundation with written parental approval. Previous drama experience is of course useful but not necessary and there is no upper age limit.
Applications from speakers of English as a second language are welcome but please note that all of ACT's courses are taught in English and are practical and active. We recommend an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) overall band of 6.0 or if below this extensive previous drama or theatre experience.
There is a £25 audition fee. However, we do not want this to be a barrier for anyone applying. Applicants who have financial hardship may apply for a free audition. Please contact the office for details.

We will then send you an audition confirmation by email.
Audition fees are non-refundable. Please consider your application carefully. If you think you might change your mind, it is important that you understand we will not be able to give you a refund.
