Liz Stapleton

Liz was born and grew up in Bedford but escaped to study for a degree in Brighton where she has remained ever since. She had a variety of jobs including cleaner and chocolate factory worker before training as a psychiatric nurse, cognitive behaviour therapist and mindfulness teacher.

She discovered her love of acting whilst taking part in role plays as part of her nurse training,  Over the last thirty years she has been a member of amateur and semi professional theatre groups playing a range of roles as a serious and comedy character actor in contemporary and classical theatre.

As an older person, she can draw on a wide variety of life experiences in developing a role, especially from her work as a nurse and therapist.

Liz took early retirement from the NHS in 2021 to pursue her passion for theatre by embarking on a professional drama course.
