Janette Eddisford has worked extensively as a director, writer and producer of theatre for the last twenty five years. She also works as a voiceover artist and actor in television, film, theatre, radio and in the corporate training sector

Janette has been a workshop leader and tutor for many years - both in mainstream education and in other contexts such as prisons, rehabilitation and probation programmes and youth work.

She ran the Warren, a Hull based Community Arts/Welfare Centre from 1982 -1985 and ran the Nightingale Theatre, Brighton's premier fringe theatre venue, from 1987 - 1991. Janette was a co-founder and member of several touring/producing companies including The shameless Hussies, Footprint Theatre, Alarmist Theatre and Interact, a children's company.

She studied Drama at Hull University, MA in Performing Arts at Middlesex University and Post Graduate Diploma in TEFL/Applied Linguistics at Brighton University and is currently studying an MA Dramatic Writing at Sussex University.

Daniel started work backstage in the West End at the age of 15 and later gained his degree in Visual & Performing Arts in 1987 from the University of Brighton

Since then he has worked extensively as an actor and his stage work includes: Camille (Old Red Lion), A Lesson to Forgive (Man in the Moon), Joseph J Joseph (Latchmere), The UK tour of Beyond Reasonable Doubt; Giorgio Joyce in Simples of the Moon at the Lyric, Hammersmith and Dr Harry Trench opposite Lisa Harrow in Widowers’ Houses. Film and TV credits includes: In the Secret State, The Bill, Sherlock Holmes, London’s Burning, What’s the Capital of Madacascar, and Trip.

Daniel has directed many professional productions, recent work includes Trunks for BTC at the Old Ship Hotel, Brighton and the site specific Lose the Plot on the Volks Railway for Arts Agenda. He has directed over 25 full scale student productions. He was an associate producer of Tandem Theatre, whose critically acclaimed productions include: Danny and the Deep Blue Sea, PVT Wars and The Games Rule, in Edinburgh, London and on tour. Daniel is an Artistic Director of The Brighton Theatre Collective and has twice been the adjudicator for the Brighton & Hove Arts Council annual Drama Competition.

head of movement - miriam king BA Hons

(Mim) is an Artist/Choreographer/Dancer/Live Artist/Filmmaker born in London, living in Brighton, working Internationally

With an art school background she commenced her professional performance career in 1984. Moving from theatre through to dance, and in more recent years to live art and film, her most significant training was with Anton Adasinsky & his performance company Derevo at their former studio in Leningrad, Russia in 1990.

Mim's work is influenced by Butoh dance. She's has been creating her own unique performances since 1992, taking her to live art festivals and artist-in-residences around the world. She has researched, lectured and presented work in many countries including Ireland, Germany, Portugal, Greece, Czech Republic, Iceland, China, South Korea, USA, New Zealand and Australia. Her award winning dance film work has been shown at Lincoln Centre/New York, Pompidou Centre/Paris, ICA/London, the Venice Bienale and at the Sydney Opera House, Australia and in every continent (excluding Antarctica).

Mim is on the editorial panel for Total Theatre Magazine, regularly contributing articles and reviews. She's a member of Movement 12 and a visiting lecturer teaching Performance and Choreography at various establishments including University of Brighton.

Hannah Summers trained at ACT and Bristol Old Vic Theatre School

She has a multifaceted background within the performing industry. Working professionally as a performer within Theatre, TV and Film as a highly skilled character actress and singer, she also directs, writes and teaches drama to adults and young people and is a musical director and vocal coach. Hannah sings professionally in many genres of music and has excellent experience in musical arrangement. Hannah founded company Short Stories Tall Tales and writes, directs and produces regular interactive and creative Storytelling sessions for babies and toddlers at the Ropetackle Arts Centre.

Mark Burgess is a playwright and actor

Having trained at the Guildford School of Acting, Mark made his West End debut in the award-winning play 'Another Country' at the Queen's Theatre. In 1986, Mark was cast as Gordon Collins in Channel 4's 'Brookside', a part he played for four years in nearly 150 episodes.

As a writer his plays include: Casting Shadows (2002). Einstein in Cromer, with David Suchet in the title role (2004). From Father with Love, on Ian Fleming's relationship with his son Caspar. He is also a veteran of many major TV commercials over the years including Boddingtons for which he won a BAFTA award, and was the iconic Milk Tray man in the eighties.

Graeme Dalling is a Scottish Actor born in Edinburgh and brought up in Bahrain in the Middle East

Having acted from a young age, he went on to train at the Guildford School of Acting. Since graduating in 2006, he has had a successful and varied career in theatre, including appearing as Donalbain and Fleance in the Olivier Award nominated production of Macbeth at the Trafalgar Studios, London, directed by Jamie Lloyd, and starring James McAvoy and Claire Foy in the leading roles. He then went on to play the role of Jonny in the award winning National Theatre of Scotland production of Let the Right One In, directed by John Tiffany. The play won the South Bank Sky Arts award for best theatre production in 2014. Graeme has performed with the play at the Royal Court in London, the West End transfer at the Apollo Theatre, and a successful run at St Ann's Warehouse in Brooklyn, NYC.

He has just completed a USA tour of the production in 2017. On screen, Graeme has played guest leads in Hollyoaks (2006) and Doctors (2007) and is best known for his role as Carl in the film Home For Christmas (2014) directed by Jamie Patterson and starring April Pearson and Karl Davies. His screen debut was in the short film Early One Summer (2006) directed by Gary Thomas, which went on to be screened at the Cannes Short Film Corner in 2008 and picked up by Hollywood Independents for release on DVD.

William Ellis trained at LAMDA

He is perhaps best know for playing Algernon in The Importance of Being Earnest in the West End alongside Penelope Keith. Other recent theatre credits include How I Learned to Drive (Southwark Playhouse), Cinderella (Lyric Hammersmith), This Happy Breed (Peter Hall Company), Hay Fever (BKL), The Voysey Inheritance (National Theatre), Romeo & Juliet (Nuffield Southampton) and Prayer Room (Birmingham Rep). He has also just worked with Werner Herzog, playing The Earl of Chester opposite Nicole Kidman on the forthcoming epic Queen Of The Desert, which is due to be released later this year. Jo is a regular Shakespeare's Globe practitioner where she played Cassius in Julius Caesar and also directed Much Ado About Nothing in 2007/8 as well as a tour of Othello for the Education Department. She has run workshops there since the theatre opened. On television you may have seen Jo in Waking the Dead, Eastenders, Casualty, The Wyvern Mystery (with Naomi Watts), The Bill, Innocents, Ruth Rendell Mysteries, 2 series of Grange Hill and more. Julian Kerridge began his professional career as an actor, performing with the RSC and Royal National Theatre and in numerous television series including Coronation Street (Granada), Dangerfield (BBC), The Jump and Fat Friends (YTV)

Amy is an actor who trained at The Lir, Ireland's National Academy of Dramatic Art, graduating in 2019.

She has a particular love for collaborative theatre practices and working on new writing, which led to her co-founding anseo|anois theatre ('anseo' meaning 'here', 'anois' meaning 'now' in the Irish language) with other like-minded creatives in Dublin. With anseo|anois Amy has played Neesh in KEEPING VIGIL (TheSpaceUK, EdFringe), Garda Lynch in KNACKERED (The Main, LA) and is looking forward to playing Aisling in PALER, STILL in 2022 (a new play, supported by Fishamble and Tipperary County Council).

Sarah co-founded Incisor Theatre Company in 1988 and has produced many productions for stage and screen. They had a residency in St Ann's Well Gardens for 8 years and produced an open-air performance each summer. She was also assistant manager at The Fortune Theatre in Covent Garden & Stage Manager for The Royal Theatrical Fund. Sarah has been the Artistic Director at The London Drama School, which she helped to found, for 15 years.

Her particular interest is in Shakespeare which she has taught in London, Brighton, Australia, New Zealand Mexico and The Seychelles; Restoration Comedy, Oscar Wilde, Noel Coward, Chekhov and Animal Study, which she teaches regularly. Her involvement with Brussels based Corporate Theatre Company, Teamact, led her to teaching Professional Presentation Skills for business people, most notably at The EU in Brussels. Sarah has been Trinity Examiner in Speech and Drama for over 10 years and also coaches students towards these exams.

Franklyn McCabe studied acting under legendary teacher Doreen Cannon at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, and appeared in numerous theatre, film and television productions throughout the 1990s

During that decade he worked for directors such as John Madden, Michael Rudman and Joseph Blatchley. Since then, he has turned exclusively to writing and directing, and has had work produced in Brighton, London and New York over the last 15 years. In 2008 Franklyn founded the Brighton-based new writing company Two Bins, and only a year later the company opened the 2009 Brits Off Broadway season at 59E59 Theaters in Manhattan. He is now working at The Old Market in Hove with Yes/No Productions (producers of STOMP), on various new writing projects. As an acting teacher, he specialises in the work of American practitioner Uta Hagen.

He co-wrote and was Associate Producer of the film South West Nine and was also Associate Producer of The Football Factory. He has directed two short films. The first Cregan was funded by The Film Council under the Digital Shorts scheme. It has been screened at festivals in the UK and Ireland including Foyle and Soho Rushes and was selected as one of the Final Cut films of the year here in Brighton. The second, Greensleeves is a dark comic horror set in Brighton starring comedienne Jo Neary which completed shooting in December 2008.

Joanna also is a co-founder of the small scale experimental performance art theatre company AboutFace Theatre Company UK. For AF she performed the Edinburgh Fringe Theatre Festival show EXILED in 1999, and the acclaimed multi-media monologue CLOSE UPS during the summer 2000 in North America. Her most recent work was a commission for Cirque du Soleil in London, in which she produced, directed and performed in a mask ensemble piece.

Jen Rowe is an ACT graduate who now specialises in comedy and improvisation with award-winning company, The Maydays, with whom she teaches and performs musical and non-musical shows

She has worked with Dreamthinkspeak, and regularly works with Brighton-based companies Whiteroom Theatre, Rational Madness and street theatre company Dodgy Totty.

Sian Webber has a BA (Hons) in Theatre from Dartington College of Arts and has worked as an actress for over twenty years

Most recently Sian collaborated with writer and actor Jack Klaff creating a solo show TROUBLES SEEN playing war correspondent Martha Gellhorn which premiered at the Ways With Words Literary Festival, Dartington.

She has just finished directing GOODBYE JOLENE by Siobhan Nicholas for Take The Space Theatre Company which premiered at The Old Market in Brighton prior to touring.

Her theatre credits include; The Young Vic, Bristol Old Vic, Salisbury Playhouse, The Wolsey, Battersea Arts, Croydon Warehouse, Chester Gateway, The Gate and tours both nationally and internationally.

Her extensive television work includes co-starring with Simon Shepherd in two series of Bliss for Carlton and she appears regularly as Ritchie Scott for Eastenders, other TV includes: Vera, Gunpowder, Midsommer Murders, Silent Witness, Trial and Retribution, Above Suspicion, Casualty, Waterloo Road, Holby City, The Bill, Dangerfield, Bad Girls, Chandler and Co, Inspector Alleyn, Pie In The Sky, Thin Ice, Chelmsford, Chelmsoford 123, Family Affairs, Doctors, Annie’s Bar, The Paradise Club, Starcops, Howards Way.

She played Marie de Medici in the feature film Young Blades for Canal Central. Other film credits include Venom 2, Death of An Author, SALT, Young Blades. Alongside her acting work she has taught students at East 15 and Arts Ed. She has been involved in helping emerging writers develop their work and has directed rehearsed readings for New Writing South and has been part of a team developing new writing headed by Annie Castledine and The Nightingale Theatre. She continues her professional development working most recently with Voice specialist Jane Boston.

School Counsellor

Trish Golding has worked for ten years as an actress in touring and educational theatre. She co-founded the World Turned Upside Down Theatre Co, based in Brighton which later became Brighton Theatre Events and still tours shows today

Trish began teaching ten years ago for the Workers Educational Association and ran improvisation classes for adults. She gained a post as a lecturer in performing arts at City College Brighton and Hove and eventually became course leader for the National Diploma in Performing Arts, then as Programme Area Manager for the whole of the performing arts area. Trish went on to train as a Psychotherapist and has experience in a number of different settings. She has a postgraduate diploma in counselling, is a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and abides by its code of ethics. As Trish has trained and worked as an actor and has been an ACT tutor, she has had first hand experience of the problems faced by student actors.
