If you’re a fan of films and TV and have admired moving and memorable performances, our Introduction to Screen Acting course will introduce you to the techniques used by the actors.
Fridays 11.00am - 1.00pm
In this new Scene Study Class, professional actors will work in pairs on staying present and connected with their partners with scripts in hand.
Before the first class, you will be paired with your scene partner and assigned the pre-class homework of finding a scene you both want to work on for the next four weeks. This can be something from a play or a film, or you might decide to transcribe something you’ve just watched.
This intensive course will develop your skills and the discipline required to be ready to enter the real world of film and television acting. Using scene work and specialised exercises the course will increase your confidence and know-how, to feel ready and prepared when arriving on set.
Our Two Week Intensive Acting Workshop runs each month and is designed to introduce students to the basic principles and activities involved in an Actor Training.
The workshop runs from Monday to Thursday evening, 7pm - 10pm for 2 consecutive weeks.
The workshop costs £200 in total - Apply Here

ACT Foundation present Road
Road explores the lives of a small, close-knit community living in the eponymous 'road' in a working class, Lancashire town during the era of the 1980's Thatcher government - a time of high unemployment, civil unrest and deprivation.
The action takes place over the course of one evening as the residents of the road prepare to go out to the pub and then on home afterwards. Despite its explicit nature, it was considered extremely effective in portraying the desperation of people's lives at this time, as well as containing a great deal of gritty, Northern humour.
A passionate, poetic and positive portrayal of working class life wherein in the audience is invited to follow the narrator, Scullery, as he travels along the road, visiting the different homes of the characters and getting messy in the local pub.

Last year I started to experiment combining Butoh with Contact Improvisation.
I think there is something interesting in this combination, what emerges, what is evoked, what is felt and experienced and seen. So I started to rent a studio once a month to explore and play.

New work from the students of our An Introduction to Playwriting course.
Over the length of the course the students develop a new piece of writing that is then showcased in this script in hand performance by professional actors.
