  • Will I be the oldest or youngest?
Probably not. There is usually a broad range of ages and backgrounds on all LAH & ACT Courses. We have no upper age limit. Participants must be 18 years or older or over

Do I need previous acting experience?
No, our courses are designed as an introduction for those who have no experience and as a refresher to those that have some experience.

Do I have to attend the first session?
Yes, all participants must attend the first session as this is a very important part of the course and introduces everyone to each other as well as the work and the spaces.

What happens if I can’t attend the course I booked?
If you are ill, or cannot attend the start of the course for any reason, then you can transfer to another course. However, you can only do this once without losing the deposit payment. Notice that you cannot attend must be given at least 24 hrs prior to the start of the course otherwise you will lose the fees paid.

If I start the course and then I don’t like it can I get my money back?
Unfortunately not. Unless there are exceptional circumstances if you start and course and then withdraw due to your own reasons then you cannot get a refund.

  • Please ensure that you have read and understood our ACT Courses terms and conditions.

Online application is only open to persons aged 18 years or over.

In the event of illness or that you are unable to attend your specified dates you may nominate to transfer to a later course. Please note you can only transfer once without losing your fee. A second transfer will require a new fee payment.

Previous acting experience is not necessary to participate but it will help us if you can supply details of any previous acting/drama experience and/or training that you have.

We do not share your details with any 3rd parties.

  • Editing Services Policy

We offer professional editing services for the recorded scenes from your course. Please read the following policy carefully to understand how you can take advantage of this optional service.

    1. Overview

Optional Service: Editing services are available as an optional add-on and are not included in the standard course fee.

Raw Footage: All students will receive raw, unedited video and audio recordings of their performances (both individual and group scenes) at no additional cost. As these files are large, the student will need to bring their own storage media with them to receive the files. This should be an external hard drive, SSD or thumb drive with at least 32 Gigabytes of free space.

    2. Editing Services for Individual Scenes

Fee: An editing fee of £100 per individual scene applies.

Request Process: Students wishing to have their individual scenes edited must submit a request within one week of the final lesson of the course.

Deliverables: Edited scenes will include basic editing, such as trimming, colour correction and audio enhancements.

    3. Editing Services for Group Scenes

Fee: An editing fee of £200 per group scene applies.

    Cost Sharing:

The fee will be equally divided among all students in the scene who opt for editing.

Example: If a scene has three students and they all opt-in, each pays £66.

    Opt-In Requirement:

Editing of a group scene will proceed when all participating students that want the edited version agree to share the cost.

If a student chooses not to participate in the editing service, they will still receive the raw footage.

    Non-Paying Participants:

Students who do not contribute to the editing fee will not receive the edited version of the group scene.

Their performance will still appear in the edited scene provided to paying participants.

    4. Payment and Deadlines

Payment Methods: Payments can be made via credit card, PayPal or bank transfer.

Payment Deadline: All editing fees must be received no later than a week afer the course is complete.

Late Payments: Requests made after the deadline may not be accommodated due to scheduling constraints.

    5. Deliverables

Delivery Timeline: Edited videos will be delivered within two weeks after the course concludes and payment is confirmed.

Format: Videos will be provided in a digital format suitable for online sharing and personal portfolios. A link will be provided for the student to download the edited video.

Usage Rights: Edited footage is intended for personal use, self-promotion, and inclusion in demo reels. Commercial use is prohibited without prior written consent.

    6. Special Considerations for Group Scenes

    If Not All Students Opt-In:

The group scene will only be edited if all participants agree to share the cost.

Alternative Option: Students who wish to proceed may choose to cover the non-participating student's share to meet the full editing fee.

    Disagreements:

It is the responsibility of the group members to reach an agreement.

The instructor will not mediate cost-sharing disputes.

    7. Cancellation and Refunds

    Cancellation by Student:

Requests for cancellation must be made in writing before the payment deadline.

Refunds will not be issued after the editing process has begun.

    Course Cancellation:

If the course is cancelled, all editing fees will be fully refunded.

    8. Additional Editing Services

    Custom Edits:

For additional editing requests (e.g., scene compilations, special effects), please contact us for a custom quote.

    Third-Party Editing:

Students are welcome to use the raw footage to seek external editing services at their own expense. Raw footage will consist of the raw, ungraded video footage and any audio that has been recorded separately via, for example, radio mics.

    9. Agreement and Consent

    Consent to Appear:

By participating in group scenes, you consent to your image and performance being included in edited versions purchased by other group members.

    Privacy:

Edited scenes will not be used by the school for promotional purposes without your explicit consent.

    10. How to Request Editing Services

Complete the Editing Services Request Form:

    Example Scenarios:

Scenario 1: All Group Members Agree

    ·       A group of three students performs a scene together.

    ·       All three agree to the editing service and submit their share of the fee.

    ·       The scene is edited, and each student receives a copy of the edited video.

Scenario 2: One Group Member Opts Out

In the same group of three, one student decides not to opt-in.

    The remaining two students can:

    ·       Option A: Cover the total editing fee themselves (each paying half).

    ·       Option B: Decide not to proceed with editing the group scene.

If they proceed, the non-participating student will appear in the edited scene but will not receive a copy.

    Scenario 3: Solo Performance

    ·       A student performs a monologue.

    ·       They request editing services and pay the individual scene fee.

    ·       The student receives the edited monologue for their personal use.

    Important Notes:

    ·       Fairness and Transparency: This policy ensures that all students are treated fairly regarding additional services and associated costs.

    ·       Responsibility: Students are responsible for communicating with their scene partners about editing decisions and payments.

    ·       No Obligation: There is no obligation to purchase editing services; this is entirely optional based on your personal needs and goals.
