Playground is an opportunity to engage in creative play and explore acting skills with like-minded individuals under the guidance of experienced professionals.
what experience do I need?
The Creative Playground is an Intermediate course designed for those who have some prior experience.
The course attracts an eclectic range of students from professional actors, teachers and writers through to experienced amateur actors and relative newcomers who have completed an ACT Workshop or Summer School.
what's covered in the course?
Each term is 10 weeks long and is made up of a mixture of single sessions and linked sessions. So there may be a Meisner class one week followed by two or three weeks of working on contemporary scripts. Classes include Voice, Laban and Butoh (Movement), Devising, Comedy Acting, and so much more!
who is teaching the course?
Tutors from across the ACT Staff teach on Playground – the timetable is sent out at the start of each term. Please see our Staff Pages.

Classes are held Wednesday evening in the Winter Term from 7pm - 10pm and run for 9 or 10 consecutive weeks each term.
Playground is a rolling format. Students may join for any term they wish and continue for as many terms as they like. Enrolment is on a termly basis so the minimum commitment is for one 10 week term.
